When Dr Tejasree Saranga and her family moved to Bunbury, one of the first things she noticed was the water.
The taste and smell felt different. Showering did not feel as pleasant as expected. Rather than accepting a generic explanation or buying the first filtration system offered, she began researching what was actually in the local water, how whole-home filtration worked, what different filter media could and could not do, and which claims were genuinely supported by evidence.
As a healthcare professional, Tejasree was naturally drawn to understanding the facts before making a decision.
What surprised her most was not simply the technical side of filtration - it was the buying experience.
Many of the conversations she encountered were centred around selling a particular system, often with limited explanation of why that system was being recommended, how the filtration stages worked, what the testing actually showed, or what ownership would look like several years later.
She felt something important was missing:
Education first. A personalised recommendation second. The sale only after the homeowner understands what they are buying.
We wanted to build the experience we were looking for ourselves.
That became the foundation of Purenest Australia.
A whole-home filtration system is not a small purchase. It becomes part of the plumbing infrastructure of a home, and homeowners deserve to understand more than simply the price on the quote.
They should know what each filtration stage is designed to do, what performance evidence exists, what the test conditions actually mean, how the system will be installed, what servicing will involve, what happens when a component eventually wears or fails, and who will still be there to support the system years later.
Purenest Australia was designed around those questions.
Support that continues after installation.
One of the principles behind Purenest Australia is serviceability. Whole-home filtration systems contain components that may eventually require servicing or replacement. That should not automatically mean replacing the entire system.
Purenest Australia therefore supports customers with replacement cartridges and selected serviceable components such as housings, gauges, valves, fittings and other parts where available.
The goal is simple: keep the system supportable for the long term, not disposable when one component needs attention.
We decided not to build the product around shortcuts.
There are easier ways to reduce the cost of a filtration system: simplify the enclosure, remove useful monitoring features, minimise structural components or select materials around the lowest possible upfront cost.
Purenest Australia took a different approach.
Our filtration systems use a durable enclosure and frame, three pressure gauges, three high-capacity 20-inch housings, standard-size serviceable cartridges, a fully WaterMark-certified system architecture and professional licensed installation.
The intention was not to make the system complicated. It was to avoid compromising the parts we believed contributed to quality, serviceability and long-term ownership.
We also wanted filtration claims to be easier to understand.
Water-filtration marketing can become confusing very quickly. A large percentage can sound impressive without telling the homeowner what was tested, at what flow rate, at what pressure, for how much water or using which cartridge configuration.
Purenest Australia therefore aims to present performance evidence together with the relevant conditions.
We would rather explain a real test result properly than advertise a bigger percentage without context.
Premium does not have to mean inflated pricing.
Another gap Tejasree identified was the assumption that quality filtration needed either to be cheap and basic or extremely expensive.
Purenest Australia was created around a different model: invest in the system, maintain professional installation, support the customer, keep unnecessary overheads controlled and offer homeowners a more personalised experience with transparent pricing.
The objective is not to be the cheapest filtration company. It is to provide quality equipment, professional installation, transparent advice and strong long-term value.
From one Bunbury home to Purenest Australia.
What began as one homeowner trying to understand why the water in her own home felt different eventually became a much larger question: could the whole-home filtration experience be better?
Better information. Better transparency. Better equipment. Better support. And a customer experience built around understanding the home rather than simply selling whatever system happens to be available.
The research, frustrations and gaps Tejasree experienced ultimately became the foundation for Purenest Australia.
Better Water. Better Living.
